I’m Bonnie –Exploring the Poetry of Nature and Abstraction Through the Lens

Meet the photographer

Photography, for me, is both a meditation and an exploration—a way of seeing the world that reveals what often goes unnoticed. My work moves fluidly between abstraction and nature photography, unified by a single pursuit: to find the extraordinary within the ordinary.

In my abstract images, I engage with form, color, and texture to create visual metaphors—distilling scenes down to their essential elements and encouraging viewers to interpret rather than recognize. These images often emerge from close observation, where man made objects & structures and natural details dissolve into shape and gesture.

In photographing nature, I try to remain attentive rather than intrusive. I seek stillness, balance, and subtle drama—moments that reflect the quiet intelligence of the natural world. Through this work, I aim to foster a sense of connection to the landscapes and ecosystems we are a part of but so often forget.

My photography is grounded in patience and presence. I am less interested in capturing a perfect image than in creating space for reflection—images that invite viewers to slow down, look closely, and rediscover wonder.
